Moving PLC-5 systems onto a current platform
Modernization is done for factories that own PLC-5 lines whose spare parts are scarce and whose software no longer opens in a current environment. The machine’s present function is kept while the line moves to a current control platform.
PLC-5 projects are converted from RSLogix into the tag-based structure in Studio 5000. The job starts with an inventory and a risk review. The cutover is planned to keep downtime short. Emergency-stop and safety chains are reviewed separately, and any required validation is done with an authorized body.
