Bringing SLC 500 and MicroLogix lines onto a current platform
Modernization is for lines running on SLC 500 or MicroLogix where spare parts and software support are narrowing. The aim is to keep the machine’s present job and move the control to a current platform. CompactLogix is a common landing platform for this move.
The old project is reviewed, I/O and machine function are taken out, then the logic moves to a tag-based structure. Downtime is planned before the work starts. Safety functions stay in place, and validation is done with an authorized body when it is required.
